- Abstract: Agitated jacketed vessels are frequently used in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. This study presents a computational system for calculating the time required for heating. The calculations were performed analytically and without any assistance of specific thermal area software, and it was based entirely on literature concepts and equations of heat transfer. The agitated jacketed vessel used in this study has a circular cross-sectional area with a torispherical dome. The half-pipe coil (Schedule Tube 10S – 3″ of stainless steel) was used as a heat-transfer device. A mean heat-transfer rate was obtained to estimate the heating time using an integral function. The average rate of the heat-transfer result was 808 kW with a heating time of 55 min.
