- Abstract: Gel-based materials are very promising for the development and improvement of nanotechnology systems having the feasibility of application in various scientific fields. The semisolid state of the gels and their characteristics, such as viscoelasticity, diffusion, and reversibility, can be extensively exploited for the formation of cutting-edge nanotechnological materials. In this chapter some of these applications of molecular and polymeric gels are discussed.
