Condição de saúde bucal em crianças HIV em Maputo, Moçambique (2009)

- Abstract: Este estudo objetivou identificar a prevalência de manifestações orais em pacientes portadores de HIV/AIDS, atendidos no ambulatório do Hospital Dia Pediátrico do Hospital Central de Maputo, Moçambique. A amostra foi composta por 90 pacientes, com idade compreendida entre 1,7 a 16 anos. Foram verificadas as prevalências de cárie dentária (ceod e CPOD) e classificação das lesões bucais preconizados por Ramos-Gomez (1999). Análise dos dados foi descritiva e analítica, utilizando-se o teste de Mann-Whitney, Univariada e correlação de Pearson (p<0,05). O CPOD encontrado foi 0,6, enquanto que ceod foi 2,6, sendo que em pacientes sob terapia os valores encontrados foram 0,8 e 2,7, respectivamente. A lesão mais frequente nos tecidos moles intra-bucais foi queilite angular (4,4%), seguida herpes labial (2,2%) e fistula (2,2%). No exame extra-bucal foi detectado hipertrofia das glândulas parótidas (23%). Houve associação inversa(r = -3) entre terapia anti-retroviral e a redução de lesões namucosa oral, demonstrando significância estatística ( p>0,00). A análise univariada mostrou associação positiva entre a terapia anti-retroviral e hipertrofia da glândula parótida (p = 0,02).O teste \2018\2018t\2019\2019 Student mostrou não haver associação entre cárie dentária e de terapia anti-retroviral (p> 0,05). Conclui-se que há a necessidade de incentivar práticas de promoção de saúde bucal para pacientes sob terapia anti-retroviral, devido ao uso crônico de medicamentos, arepetidos episódios de internação, a higiene oral deficiente e a imunossupressão pela infecção do HIV
