Abstract: In a microgenetic context we investigated the importance of errors made in the game of Master Mind. We formulated the following hypotheses: (a) there are 8 kinds of mistakes in the game with 9 and 16 signals; (b) this classification is compatible with the levels of comprehension proposed by Piaget for the game with 3 and 4 signals.
