- Abstract: Ergonomics and Lean Production have similar goals. Ergonomic issues should be deemed waste by Lean Practitioners because of the effect on the health, safety, and productivity of employees in the manufacturing process. The transition from a place to another place, for example, creates physical and mental fatigue and increases wasted time, which is one of the most common wastes in production processes. The paper presents the question: What is the analysis format that can be conducted by incorporating vision among Lean Manufacturing and Ergonomics? What are the benefits of this integration? This paper presents a case study that illustrates the use of an integrated approach, developed by the design science research method, in a production process. To complement is presented a theoretical and practical framework, integrating Ergonomics and Lean Manufacturing to produce a technical report of ergonomic analysis of the task. This study was carried out at a Brazilian refrigeration compressor manufacturer located in the São Paulo State countryside in different manufacturing processes.
