- Abstract: This paper focuses on the selected results from an experimental project concerning the process of cultural transmission, having cultural psychology as its theoretical framework. The project's aim is to explore the transformative processes in self-other-world relationships, focusing on how the cultural field enables and/or restricts personal actions. Our purpose is to discuss temporal mediation in the process of cultural transmission, once the irreversibility of time guides the semiotic process, which constrains personal trajectories and actions. The experimental methodology and its results were dialogically analyzed in order to observe: 1) the extra-verbal dimension of semiotic-cultural constructions; 2) the transformation of the personal actions due to the contact with cultural artifacts. The experiment made it possible to evince how cultural objects are tranformed due to the relations people establish with others in the environment. The results and discussion showed how participants struggled to reproduce models suggested by previous generations: from the 'past models', aspects could be changed in the 'here-and-now' time, constraining cultural continuities and discontinuities for 'future generations'.
