Abfraction lesions: an alternative restorative treatment (2006)

- Abstract: Abfraction lesion has a complex etiology, and diverse forms of treatment exist and involve different restorative materials. The patient V. C. G., female, 33 years, came to dental clinic of operative dentistry, of Bauru dental school, it complained of the great painful sensitivity in teeth 34 and 35, because for abfractions lesions, also present in other teeth, without painful. The teeth, were perfomed with a glass ionomer modified for resin with a rubber dam to expose the lesions. In each tooth was realized a little wear with diamond bur 3118, was applied poliacrilic acid 10%, during 10 seconds. After washing and drying, each cavity was filled with the restorative material, manipulated as manufacturer recommend and applied with syringe Centrix type; the restorative material was compressed with a transparent matrix and respective polimerization per 40 seconds with a halogen lamp. Removed the matrix, was applied the protective especific varnish and big excess it was effected with bisturi n?12. After 7 days, the finishing and polishing were take with FlexiBuffs discs and multilaminated bur. At the moment, the patient told that the painful sensitivity disappear, what it indicates a favorable prognostic of restorative treatment
