- Abstract: Oral Rehabilitation in patients having generalized worn tooth hás been a great challenge for the dentists, mostly for those less experienced. Occlusal instability, loss of vertical dimension and loss of anterior guidance occasioned by the excessive tooth wear might damage estomatognathic system's biology, function and esthetic. The etiology of tooth wear may be multifactorial, and the parafunctional habits (bruxism) is one of the mainly factors involved. So, the correct dignosis and treatment planning of the case are crucial to control and reestablish the system's harmony. In face of the complexity on oral rehabilitation cases, these should start by reversible procedures, e.g. the confection of overlay, and just after the restoration of the altered oral functions, irreversible procedures can be executed, improving the final results of the treatment. Thus, this report's purpose is to demonstrate the clinical and laboratorial steps for the confection of an overlay and its indications, contraindications, advantages, disadvantages and outcome as well as the importance of those procedures for the planning and execution of complexes rehabilitation
