- Abstract: The location of myosin-V in whole mount preparations of the peritracheal and intrapulmonary peribronchial plexuses of Wistar rats has been shown by using an affinity-purified antibody specific to the medial tail domain of myosin-V. Myosin-V immunostaining was intense in the peritracheal and intrapulmonary peribronchial plexuses, allowing the visualization of neuronal cell bodies and fibers. Knowledge of the cellular localization and function of this class of myosin is an important achievement, as it allows the study of these plexuses so as to clarify the importance of the complex mechanism responsible for the functioning of the airways.
