- Abstract: Biosurfactants are amphiphilic molecules produced by microorganisms that present emulsification activity and tensoactivity. Due to these properties, these compounds can be applied in bioremediation techniques, with advantages such as biodegradability, lower toxicity and higher stability over some synthetic surfactants, as well as can be produced by renewable substrates.
