- Abstract: O caranguejo-peludo Pilumnus vinaceus A. Milne-Edwards, 1880, anteriormente considerado sinônimo júnior de Pilumnus dasypodus Kingsley, 1879 por Rathbun (1897) é aqui ressuscitado. Pilumnus vinaceus se distingue das espécies conhecidas do Atlântico ocidental (incluindo P. dasypodus) com base em caracteres morfológicos e marcadores moleculares.
