- Abstract: Objectives: For health professionals during the COVID-19 outbreak, including orthodontists, social distancing and new professional recommendations could be complex factors to influence the Quality of Life (QOL). This study analyzed sociodemographic factors that influence the QOL of orthodontists during COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods: 440 orthodontists answered an electronic survey. Quantitative analysis included a sociodemographic questionnaire, and the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire was used as main outcome for QOL. QOL was analyzed using Student-t test or Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). For multiple comparison, Bonferroni's correction was used. Results: 69.3% of respondents were female, 44.5% aged 36-45 years old, and 62% specialists in orthodontics. 45.4% had 11-20 years of experience and 68% had an owned single practice. All the scores were fully completed for the 4 domains of WHOQOL-BREF. Female showed greater QOL in physical health (p=0.001) domain and lower in environment (p=0.047) compared to male orthodontists. Ph.D. orthodontists had the greatest QOL scores for social relationships (p=0.016) and environment (p=0.040) domain. Orthodontists up to 10 years of experience presented lower scores for social relationships, environment and overall QOL (p<0.05)
