- Abstract: Innovation is recognized as one of main source of competitive advantage and, consequently, value creation. To maximize your contribution, it is necessary to analyze the elements that contribute to innovation outcomes. This paper analyzes the relationship between the results of innovation processes and organizational capabilities of Brazilian companies in information technology by applying the methodology of multiple-case study. Thus, the study attempts to contribute to the understanding of the influence of organizational capabilities, such as process innovation, knowledge management and organizational structure, in innovative outcomes, such as the launch of new products. Data were obtained in two steps. In the first step, the questionnaire was applied to evaluate the value chain of innovation proposed by Hansen and Birkinshaw (2007) to managers related to innovation activities in selected companies. In the next step, it were conducted the individual interviews and the intersection and analysis of data. The research concludes that innovative outcomes are positively related to and have significant influence of the innovation process and have relevant influence of organizational structure. However, innovative outcomes do not have positive relation and significant influence of knowledge management. It is important to highlight that the results are not conclusive and more research is needed
