- Abstract: O artigo tem por objetivo rastrear as informações relativas à índia Antiga, constantes na Biblioteca, de Fócio, e recolhidas por esse autor a partir da leitura das obras de Filóstrato de Lemnos, Teofilato, Ctésias de Cnido, Arriano, Eudócia, Damáscio, Himério, Agatárquides de Cnido e Teodoreto. Retomam-se também as fontes que citam os encontros de Sócrates e de Alexandre com filósofos indianos. O artigo inclui uma amostragem do texto de Fócio, com a indicação de fatos diversos pertinentes à índia
