- Abstract: The objective of this work is to research the historical cultural process of the Nikkei people insertion into Brazilian society studying those who are on the USP faculty. We intend to contribute to memory preservation and to the study of Japanese immigration in the State of São Paulo as well as of their very present in USP. The project both resumes and broadens the effort made by the faculty of the Nursing School of the USP who, in 1995 had the book "Tending the Lands: reflections of Japanese immigration in the USP" published, focusing the Nikkei members of the teaching boards of this University. The current work analyzes the partial results obtained up to the present (the project is still underway) inasmuch as it reached the conclusion, among others, that the "Uspian Professor", notwithstanding his/her specificity is not too far, in the origin, from the typical immigrant-family pattern
