- Abstract: It was investigated a sample of 3297 death certificates (DC) of women from 10 to 49 years old in the Brazilian capital of states. It was compared the "original DC"(ODC) with a "new DC"(NDC) fulfilled according to all the information gathered through interviews with the family of the deceased woman and the physicians, hospital medical records and others related to the medical care received by the woman. It was done the comparison between the causes of death declared in the ODC and in the NDC and comments regarding some causes that were under declared and others that were over declared in the ODC
