Esophageal motility and transit alterations in a patient with hypothyroidism: Case report (2003)

- Abstract: Apresentamos o caso de uma paciente com diagnóstico clínico e laboratorial de hipotiroidismo sem disfagia que no exame manométrico do esôfago apresentou redução acentuada da amplitude da contração (esôfago proximal: 20, 7mmHg) quando comparada com voluntários normais (59,3mmHg). A duração do trânsito esofágico, medida pelo método cintilográfico, foi maior no paciente, em partes proximal e média de esôfago (proximal: 28,3 segundos) comparada com voluntários normais (1,8 segundos). Concluímos que este caso sugere que o hipotiroidismo pode alterar a motilidade e o trânsito esofágico
