Hipertrofia nuclear e síntese de RNA em células de Rhynchosciara infectadas por microsporídeos (1975)

- Abstract: A infecção por microsporídeos foi estudada em três tecidos de Rhynchosciara angelae, intestino, musculatura parietal e corpo gorduroso, sob dois aspectos: hipertrofia nuclear e incorporação de precursores no RNA. Para termo de comparação, os columes nucleares de células do cérebro foram medidos. Os volumes nucleares foram agrupados em classes, numa progressão geométrica, tanto para os tecidos normais como para os infectados. Foram detectadas sete classes volumétricas para os tecidos normais e até quinze para os tecidos normais e até quinze para os tecidos infectados. Nos tecidos normais, o intestino apresentou os maiores súcleos, a musculatura mostrou núcleos de tamanhos intermediários e o corpo gorduroso apresentou os menores núcleos. No entanto, no tecido infectado, os maiores núcleos são os do corpo gorduroso, enquanto que o intestino e a musculatura apresentam volumes semelhantes. O crescimento diferencial dos núcleos de diferentes tecidos pode ser correlacionado com o número de protozoários presentes nas células: quanto maior este número, maior é a hipertrofia da célula hospedeira. O grande aumento no volume nuclear deve ocorrer na fase de multiplicação vegetativa dos microsporídeos. Este crescimento é acompanhado de um aumento na quantidade de RNA, evidenciada pela enorme incorporação de precursores por núcleo. A sínese de RAN nas células hospedeiras é mais intensa que nas células normais. Análise do corpo gorduroso mostrou que a influência dos microsporídeossobre a taxa de transcrição das células hospedeiras é dependente da fase do ciclo vital do parasita, sendo maior nas fases vegetativas e decrescente à medida que a esporogonia se processa. Estes estudos, entretant, não discriminam os tipos de RNA cuja síntese é provocada pela infecção
