- Abstract: A análise citogenétca foi realizada em um leiomioma a um leiomiossarcoma de uma única paciente. O número modol foi 46 cromossomos em ambos os tumores. As alterações cariotípicas clonais foram detectadas somente no leionvossarcoma (monossomias dos cromossomos 18, 21 a 22). Essas descobertas sugerem que estas anormalidades podem ter um papel na progressão dos sarcomas uterinos. No leiomioma as alterações numéricas estiveram presente de maneira aleatória, provavelmente devido à instabilidade do tecido neoplásico. A histopatologia mostrou um diagnóstico de leiomioma uterino com áreas de hialinização a um leiomiossarcoma invasivo bem diferenciado. O endométrio estava em fase proliferativa
