- Abstract: The perturbed neutral functional differential equation (nfde) (1) d/dt [d('X IND.T')-g ('X IND.T')] = l ('X IND.T')+f ('X IND.T') is considered with the assumption that g and f are lipschitzian in c=c ([-r,0],'R POT.N'). Under certain condition the banach space c can be decomposed into c=p'TETA'q where p is a finite dimensional subspace of c generated by initial values of those solutions of equation (1). An integral manifold 'M IND.P' (g,f) can be constructed for (1) with properties similar to those of the subspace p, that is, i) the properties of the nfde (1) are completely determined by the stability of the set 'M IND.P' (g,f), that is, solutions that remain close to the origin are attracted exponentially to 'M IND.P' (g,f). Ii) the solutions of the nfde (1) with initial values in 'M IND.P' (g,f) satisfy an exponential estimate similar to t (t)'FI POT.P' and are described by the ordinary differential equation (2) y=by (t)+b'PSI' (0)g ('E''FI'y(t))+'PSI' (0)f (h('E''FI'y(t))) in p.
